I recently picked this coin up as part of a small lot ( a few others I'm also posting on here). In so far as I have been able to find out, it is Greek minted under Roman authority. Its about the size and thickness of a sestertius, prehaps a little wider than average.
Any info on type/date/ value or any other info much appreciated.
Thanks, heres a couple of closer ups, the inscription around the head still difficult to see, i'll try again when I've got some good natural light to work with
Found it on Wildwinds using the partial inscription search: Roman Provincial, from the city of Anchialus, now known as Pomorie on the Black Sea coast of what is now Bulgaria. The emperor is Maximinus I.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
