The last time I showed my collection to someone in bank, he left with a valuable large cent in his pocket.
It is old business Moe and I have already posted about it. I don't want to get us off topic. Thanks.

"is that it doesn't reach the customers who have the money to buy a valuable collection."

A lot of high end collectors cruise Craigslist daily, you would be surprised.

Good comments. I checked out Craigs List and most of what I saw were not up to the quality of many of the collections that are represented on the Forum. Not to mention that the face to face required to sell a large collection locally is highly dangerous in my opinion. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately what you bring up does have some really bad results. And then too, many great ones. Ny next door neighbor has acquired a refrigerator, washer, dryer and many other items from craigs list and all free. One really scarry situation was a person that was giving him the refrigerator said he would deliver it and showed up about 10:00PM at night with several friends. But all turned out well although really scarry for a while there. Now with something like a large amount of coins and the cash for them, I'd really be a little leary about meeting a stranger anywhere, anytime. Imagine saying just bring $25,000 in small bills to the parking lot by the Dominiks store on the corner of something or other at 10PM. I'll have the coins with me. Not sure how that would work out.
