After working on a new coin shot today, I thought I'd highlight a great coin series for finding die varieties like overdates. The Peru silver 1/2 Dinero was minted up to 1917, and within the 1901-17 period alone, there are a staggering
42 overdates! Many overdates are common, with a few scarcer varities. Despite the small 15mm size (1.25gr), it's a very interesting coin to study for overdates, misspelled legends, signs of rusty dies, and clashes. I found a nice MS group where the minute details stand out.
