P & D issues:
For Circulation: Zinc (same as post 1982) From Collector Sets: Copper (same as 1909)
I've called every dealer in the area and they all only carry zinc. A couple of them sounded confused when I asked, "do you have the 95% copper ones?" I would swear they didn't even know it.
In any event, can the copper versions of all four reverses normally be purchased by themselves? What sets did they come in - and would it be unusual for them to be sold individually?
In summary, what is the best rout if I want all 2009 Lincoln combinations in both copper and zinc?

The 95% coppers are found in ALL proof versions and in the annual Mint Set, there are no business strike coppers.

Yes.....these can only be obtained by crackin' a Set ! ..... But you should be able to "acquire" them from other sources though. Like maybe coin shows in your area........or certainly ebay. The U.S. Mint website is still selling the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Proof Set (LN2) .....this contains only the four 95% Coppers. I believe it's $7.95 plus shipping/handling per set.

Yes, those should be 95% copper. If you get them, make sure they are still sealed and not tampered with in any way. If you suspect any tampering, weigh them!

Excellent, thanks for the help. I just bought a set. Now I can just focus on the simple stuff. The rest of the 09's plus about 20 coins left in my 8100, and they're all common! One or two more visits to the coin shop should complete me.

Wow, so they made copper collector coins after all? I hope some of these 95% planchets get business strikes.

For the record, any bronze cent found in circulation would have to scrutinized. The one in your change may have been from a broken mint set; but a solid bank roll of bronze cents would be another story.

I can attest to the lack of 2009 cents... or dimes... or nickels... drat.
Anyways, I've probably gotten about 10 dollars worth of change in pennies from various "happenings" in the past month, and I've only found one. LP2. But that gives me a find rate of about... .001 percent. Yikes.
