MWH New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 01/23/2010 11:29 pm Got first MD on Tuesday (Ace 250)...took it out for first time today, and didn't do very well. Only worked about hour and came up with (hold your breath) a modern penny, 2 pop tabs, and 2 very short pieces of copper tubing. A little disappointing, but in a way gratifying? I did learn a few things about my detector, and just hope it will pay off in near future. Biggest mistake of day was taking 2 youngest children with me...ended up watching them play at park for part of time I was wanting to hunt. Report this Post to the Staff
Shamrock4sure Valued Member United States 101 Posts	Posted 01/31/2010 7:00 pm I was told that the training video tells you to start out in "All Metal" mode, don't do it. Start out in "coin" mode. All metal can discourage a newbie. After a couple of months of detecting then try the "All Metal" will drive you crazy because it will find all metals, nails, foil etc. If you are digging stray metals in coin mode, turn the sensitivity down. The way to pinpoint this coil is to hold the pinpoint button swing a cross pattern. When you have the loudest sound, pull straight back slowly until you lose sound. The target will be under the tip of the inner coil. Have fun amd post your finds here. Report this Post to the Staff
