I found this shilling in a bag of stuff I bought and was wondering it it had some meaning? The imprints sure do look as if it was done intentional and who ever did it, spent a little time, to get the marks so symmetrical.

probably not, it more looks like a roadkill to me, the coin is too new to be "chopmarked" so this damage, since being that symmetrical, is probably caused by a machine of some sort, maybe someone punched something through it or somethnig was on it while it was kind of pressed into some other hard surface. Silver is a soft metal, it can get damaged very easily.
Merry christmas.

I Never thought about someone using the coin as a spacer in a press, or something like that.

Bill, I am very young in age, compared to you but I have seen a dozen different usage of coins around the world. Soem weird ones are:
-Electric conductors in old type electric regulators (porcelain ones at old houses)
-Don't know what they're called, but coins with holes in the middle are often sued to stop nails that were struck in wood or other soft objects
-As we all know.. Jewellery
-Copper coins mostly used inside old type accumulators in older cars. The owners put some coins in them to keep the electric current regulated. It's an old trick that soem car repairsmen know.

:)
