I just received a U.S. $2 bill in almost mint condition not even folded or anything. It says series 1963 but the serial number is in red and I thought I heard something about them having value if the numbers and letters are red but I'm not sure. There is no star either on it. Thanks.

At least it has FACE VALUE, but more importantly, numismatic value, and a story to tell as well. I am fairly certain that all 1963 series deuces have the red lettering (at least the couple I have do). I wish I had a website that would give you an approx value for your deuce, but I would guesstimate that it would be worth at least $3.75. I pretty sure that someone with a little more background will chime in.

The red seal notes are called United States Notes, as opposed to the Green seal Federal Reserve Notes we use today. Most 1963's aren't worth much over face in circulated condition but I save them since they are old notes. Sounds like yours is in pretty nice shape and would be a keeper! http://www.friesian.com/notes.htm#us
