One of the absolute favorites in my collection. Struck to commemorate the death of the bishop Maximilian Henry of Bavaria in 1688. The reverse of the taler features a nativity scene with the adoration of Christ. The symbolism is a reference back to the Cologne cathedral, which was built to house the relics of the three wise men. Pictures taken before it made its way into a NGC slab (F-15).

Happy holidays all!
