I use it but only in open areas such as fields. The standard coil is much better in cluttered areas such as play grounds, you get about 2 extra inches of depth with the bigger coil.

I have only used the stock coil that came with my Ace 250, but I did get the 12x14 coil for Christmas that I had mentioned in one of your previous posts. It is raining here today but I am going to get out this weekend and try it out. I'll let you know how it works when I do.

I have found things as deep as 14-16 inches in loose dry beach sand. About 12-14 inches in other soil types. The stock coil seems to less effective in soils with a high iron content.

I live in West Kentucky and our soil does have high Iron content...and creates havoc for me...but, I am learning how to use the Ace better. I would love to have the larger coil, but until I get better with this coil it would be useless to me. Congrats on getting the coil!

Since we're on the topic of coils...How is the 4.5" Super Sniper coil for the Ace 250? Does it really make a big diffence in the trashy ground? Whats the depth that it can go?

Thanks Guys
