LATE EDIT: My images are a few posts below. Pictures are from the listing and tweaked a bit. I don't think we can grade it by these images but it is looking good to me. I see a scratch over the V and E PLURIBUS UNUM looks weak but this is a semi key coin for the set and the price I paid was too good to pass up. I am expecting an MS63 coin possibly. I'll revise my images when it arrives. This one will be my type coin for sure. Edited by TNG 12/30/2009 2:37 pm

Wheezy, I hate to say it, but I really think it is fake. Best you send it on to me and I will keep verify it for you. Nice pick up, and Merry Christmas, look forward to seeing you again next year

Methinks latman100 is after a few US coins, first my 1890-CC Morgan and now wheezy's 1883 Type 2 Nickel... I can sympathize, it took me a while to find a BU Australia 1966 50¢ piece (Oz's only circulation silver Decimal!) in Denver.... Quote: Best you send it on to me and I will verify it for you. That means you'll basement-slab it "LCGS MS63 1883 US 5¢ With Cents" and send it right back to him, right?

awesome color, and looks to have a lot of remaining luster and detail, but I can't really guess a grade from those pictures.

latman100 .... you scared me for 1/2 a second. It is probably a regular indoor light photo, giving it a more yellow color than is actually on it. I can't wait to get my own images. The 2x2 says it is MS64 but with that scratch, I think it knocks it out of that especially the location of it. I can force myself to look around it though. ( Little better tweaks )

It's a beauty, can't really tell from the images. I would say from what I can make out it's at least MS-63.

Certainly does appear to be a beautiful MS coin. Please, Mr Wheezy, post pictures of the coin when you have it in hand. I got's to have some clarity!

Yes. Yes. Post good pictures when you get it. It's the favorite date of my Liberty nickel collection.

Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum, I have a pretty good collection of US coins, mostly through trades, with a couple of nearly completed sets. If you are after any other Aussie coins DNA, send me a PM and I will see what I can do. And of course I would send the Nickel back.....

Thanks! It's just that pesky 1966 Silver 50¢ that's hard to come by here. Denver coin shops generally have AUS/NZ Pre-Decimals (for the 'serious' collectors), and 1970's-up circulated AUS/NZ Decimals. The '66 Silver 50¢ is neither of those, so it 'falls through the crack' of our dealers' inventory strategy...

My 1883 With Cents Liberty nickel arrived today. Well the holder has a grade on it. Says MS-64 and it looks a lot better than I was expecting. The flecks and lines are dust and what not on the holder and glare. I am going to make sure it is dust and oil free and get it in an airtite pretty quickly. I took these images today. Best I could do without a major set up.
