If you sell something on ebay and the buyer pays with PayPal and decides to return it - is there a procedure to get everything back including PayPal fees?

I'm going to be putting stuff up on ebay and I want to know if I need to add a term "less PayPal fees" to the return policy.

Fees are refunded automagically when you do a refund.

OK, so there's a "refund" option? Is that always or only when you sell something through ebay?

A seller can always "refund" PayPal monies, ebay or not. I've had money refunded because the item was not available and also for incorrect payment type.

Ah! Helpful information, thank you. OK, last question.

I'm assuming you must refund the whole amount? If that's the case then I'm assuming you have no choice but to eat the outbound shipping cost.

If I can recall a previous purchase, I was given partial refund for excess shipping fees.

According to https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/w...fund-outside "You can send a full or partial refund...within 60 days of receiving a payment. Refunds are available only for transactions involving the purchase of goods and services."

I give partial refunds ALL the time. Folks frequently fail to apply my shipping discount for multiple items and overpay me on shipping costs, so I calculate the difference, even if it's only $1.50, and refund it back to them. Works like a charm!

USARMY- The outbound shipping costs (I think you mean the buyers return postage) is an item you pre select in your ebay listing as to who is responsible.

Also say the item arrives slightly damaged and you agree on a "new" price, use Paypal to credit the amount back.
