I have a couple sheets of half dollars and was wondering if there are any key dates to look for? I found a nice 1948, which I see is a good year (I wish I had the dollar!).
Any info is greatly appreciated!

Hi, ScarecrowGifts, I'll just point out a few from 1902-1936 1904 and 1905 both with very low mintages, 1920 with wide date. 1932 with a mintage of 19,213, in VG worth about $300.00 and, of course, if you have a 1921... Well

Although not on the above list, nice examples of 1911 are hard to find...

Hi, The 1931/34/36 are pretty low in mintages, if they grade high they are worth quite a bit. Also, there are a couple of varieties in the new Charlton (2010) wide and narrow dates, for the 1948 In VF condition about a $200.00 plus coin.

In my opinion, when it comes to deciding which KEY dates exist in Canadian half dollar coinage, I consider any half prior to 1949 to be a KEY date. And further more, the ones under 300,000 mintages are the super Key dates, especially in grades above VF-30. Glenn

Nice looking coins, ScarecrowGifts.. if that is the price you paid for them, you got a pretty good deal. The 1948 looks VF from the scan, nice semi-key coin. And, yes Glenn, I agree that any thing under 1949 should almost be a key date.

Nice set of 50 cent coins. The 31/34/36 I would expect F12 money for all 3. There are MANY variety's of the Geo 6th halfs which command a nice premium. 46 design in 6 for example, or 1951 with obv hub doubling, or 52 dbl HP just to name a few.

1894 is a key date. Hard to get, only 29,032 minted.
