I highly doubt that they will ever bring back a large size circulating dollar since the major complaint about the small size dollar is that people don't want the extra weight in their pockets. A dollar was worth a lot then so, no need to carry a bunch of them around. We no longer care about the intrinsic(metal value)value of our coinage so there is no need to make large coins(which would cost much more to make).So, in short, don't expect any large coins soon. You know that many of us would grumble at a $5 set of circulating coins, but you know we'd save them. Report this Post to the Staff

Too many people complain about carrying around something the size of a small dollar(which is not much bigger than a quarter) and remember that the last time a large dollar circulated was over 30 years ago, it would never be accepted.
