Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 01/02/2010 1:14 pm its the same camera I have used for years it is a cheapo JVC GC-QX3HD and its 3.3 MP. I reset the White Balance and also turned on spot focus and turned on something that I have no idea what it is called, I thought it was a timer so I could push the button then remove my finger from the button and it take a picture a few seconds later to make the camera stable on the tripod, it did wait a second or two but it also sounds like it is taking about 10 pictures right after another. I think what made the biggest difference was using the tripod and having quite a bit more space between the coin and the camera for the light instead of trying to fill the viewer with the coin. The only other thing I can think of is I have the camera in macro mode oh yeah the only editing I did was to crop the picture, no adjusting any other settings Report this Post to the Staff

Personally, though, I would always use a white or black background rather than the taupe to get a truer color. Report this Post to the Staff

The color you see is the color of the Dansco page not some back drop I used to lay the coins on. The color is a nice representation of the color the coins actually are so I guess you can call this experiment a success Report this Post to the Staff
