I read somewhere that U.S. Nickles and Dimes are rare/hard to get. Is this true? (No I haven't seen any myself !)

2009's are low mintage and slow to be released. I've seen P's of both but no D's

Yes you have heard correct. Since the US economy has been on a downward spiral for the last year. The Federal Reserve has been taking less orders for all coinage. Plus the US Mint produced far less than normal amounts.

Sorry everyone...it was my poor attempt at humor. collectall didn't specify 2009 coins in his/her post. I was offering to sell you my pocket change (no 2009's) for double face. Sorry for getting everyone excited. From now on I'll stick to my day job and leave the humor to the professionals!

The first single P nickel sold on ebay about 7-8 months ago for around $125. The bank wrapped rolls now sell in the $35-40 range. Which is double their low from a few months ago.

I would assume it will be released eventually... so I guess patience is a virtue for 2009. Assuming you're talking about those. If not, then come on down here and buy something. You'll probably get a nickel or dime in change. Edited because apparently I can't spell...
