Common Barber Halves Question - Coin Community Forum

JayDon62 Valued Member United States 138 Posts	Posted 01/02/2010 5:30 pm I have the chance to buy 100 common date AG-G-VG Barber halves from an older guy (bar buddy) for $7 each. He originally wanted $10 each, but with the spot price at about $6, I offered that price. He says $7 deal. Opinions? Report this Post to the Staff

925dealer Valued Member United States 258 Posts	Posted 01/02/2010 7:30 pm $7.00 per piece is fourteen times face and seems reasonable as long as they grade g4 or better. A few ag's is ok but if a bunch of them are that grade they should sell for bullion price ie. $6.00 per coin. Ask him if he will let you cherry pick at the $7.00 or if you can meet part way at $6.50 or something. Negotiate and put CASH on the table (not a check).
