While over here in Iraq, I purchased a coin collection which is waiting for me at home right now. I am heading on leave in a few days and I would like to submit some of the coins for grading. However, I have never done it before and was going to send to ANACS. My question is, once you print out the form, fill it out and send the coins in. How do you pay? Do you get notification that the coins are done and you pay by CC or what?

I've got a few potential little treasures in there and I am anxious to see them first hand. The ones I plan to submit, provided they are as nice as described are:

1820 Large Cent 20 over 19- VF to XF
1835 Capped bust modified design- XF to abt UC
1804 Half Cent, spiked chin, stems to wreath
1865 2 cent, large motto, curved "5"- XF
1914D Barber dime- XF

You can prepay via CC, although they'll take a check/MO. Declare your best guess for value on each; I use real-world sales results from ebay, Heritage and such to estimate. I don't believe any of these (depending on what denomination the Capped Bust coin is) reach $500 in value so you can use the Economy tier if you wish. The last time I submitted to them, I got an email when the grading was done, before they shipped back. You can track progress online.

Make sure you're using PVC-free mylar flips to package the coins.
