I think 925dealer has the right take on this offer. (except for his comment on the Lincoln set which I think he has seriously undervalued in the condition the one in the sale is supposed to be.)

I based my various quotes on the pictures I saw which did not show any of the early key dates as being in anything other than maybe vg. I don't recall seeing in the ad that the set was in mint state and the pictures in the ad sure don't give it that perspective. The expensive coins are the 1909 s, 1909 s vdb, 1914 d, 1922 plain and a few other moderate coins. Everything else is readily available in grades running from g4 to ef for very moderate sums. A set is built over time by cherrypicking the finest examples at the best prices. Anyone can buy a set and even have one built by grade desired but that kind of ruins the effort. I do buy sets regularly but most often the best coins are either not there or in very poor condition. My prices quoted are based on my experiences as a seller (not a buyer) assuming my grading is not far off from what I saw in all of the sellers photographs (which left a lot to be desired).

As I have stated so often on this board, always buy the best you can afford. Also don't forget common stuff will ALWAYS be common and rare will only get rarer over time. Buy your coins wisely and don't be afraid to ask for discounts on expensive coins or if you are buying a bunch of stuff ie. over $1,000 worth of coins at one time. Happy cherrypicking! Sincerely, John Leckrone
