I just began my first stab at treasure hunting Lincolns (as per my other thread).

Next I want to try my hand at mining for silver. What are the box quantities for the other denominations? Also what would you suggest? Some people on here say they've had good luck with half dollars.

Are you sure on the dollar coins? I was thinking it was $500, but that may just be for the new ones.

Bags are basically 100 rolls and a box is half a bag. Dollars are a bit of an odd item though. With the old Ike dollars and older coins a bag was $1000 and a roll was $20. (They didn't have boxes at the time.) When the SBA came out a bag was $2000 and a roll was $25 and a box was ten rolls. (There may be other box sizes as well, I don't know.)

Dollars can be fun to search, there are nifc dates and proofs can be found more easily than anything but halves as well as a great many errors. Although every year it gets tougher and tougher as more and more business strikes get dumped into circulation.
