If I read this correctly,Is the 1959d considered a fake,or counterfeit?I have quite a few of them.Should these be added as part of my collection I've been working on?Sandra. Edited by sn31 05/29/2006 10:12 pm

Hi sn31
The 1959-D is a legimate cent . there were 1,279,760,000 of them minted.
What is the source of the info that you are reading ?

Metalman is correct. The 59 was the first year of the Memorial. I'm curious where you read this also. I wonder if Metalman has those numbers memorized? ;-))

Hi sn31
Ok ,I found the reference,, I'm sure that you have already figured out they are refering to 59-D's with a wheat reverse.
