The star was the clue to look up Morocco, and there it was. AH 1316 (another clue, as Moroccan coins often have Western numerals), i.e. AD 1898 dirham. It's .835 silver with .0782 ASW.

I have to say, this one looks suspicious to me; I couldn't find it in the catalogues at first, because I was looking in the "hammered" sections. These coins were made by Paris mint, not cast or struck locally; this piece looks very rough and cast-like to me, and the discolouration doesn't look like .835 fine silver. I suspect it's an imitation, perhaps intended for jewellery purposes.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
