Typically a soak in acetone will remove any organic material. I haven't had any experience with this but others here have.

You're not hijacking at all, that is a very nice coin indeed ! If you don't mind, what did you have to give for that beauty?

That's a funny(kinda) story.I was on e-bay the other nite,watching this coin.I was going to bid $475 max bid.But I wasn't paying attention,and hit $575 instead.When it went over my max,and I still was high bidder,I realized my mistake.So,that's what I paid for it,it went for my max.......

Nice coin Brewzz. I got a great deal on mine several months ago. It's not as strong as yours, but at $175 I made off like a bandit. The surfaces are original IMO, and a lot of luster remains.

that has got to be the best deal I have seen in a while! That is a downright gorgeous coin. And, the price is quite disgraceful. I hope you want the church and said a few prayers when you got it home. I paid just over $125 for mine.

Thanks! Yeah, a lot of good deals can be had on ebay, though it always presents a risk. I didn't know the coin looked that good until it was in my hands.
