My friend that's letting me search his 25 years of pocket change gave me this coin back today. What a great friend! He insisted I keep it for doing all the work on his change.

Not sure if I posted this one for grading yet:

Very nice gift. I still need the 98 and 99 in red. Nice coin.

Is that a die clash on the reverse between the columns? If it is, how would that affect the grade? I know grade is about wear but would a die clash impact grade?

I'm working on a cent collection and I'm not familiar with the " WAM" term. Also "ceaton" mentioned needing a 98 and 99 in "RED". Could someone enlighten me about " WAM" and "RED"? I'm not going to learn if I don't ask.

WAM = Wide AM. On the reverse, the letter A & M in "America" is spread further apart then they are supposed to be. Check out this link for more details.

Yes, that's a clash. It shouldn't effect the grade.

Wecome to CC!

"Red" means the coin has a full, copper color just as it came from the mint.

Back to this coin...

I gave this coin an MS-62 RD, but it might slide to a 63 at a TGP depending on their mood that day. There's nice luster and plenty of red which can skew a grader up on Memorial cents.
