Hi,
I have the above coin. I have a 2008 krause catalogue but do not have an up to date version.
Would someone be able to look up the values of the coin in the different grades in the latest version for me?
Kind regards

My 2010 Red Book lists the 1913S Barber/Liberty Head Dime (mintage 510,000) prices as:

G-4 $28
VG8 $45
F12 $95
VF20 $160
EF40 $250
AU50 $320
MS60 $500
MS63 $750

Numismedia has more updated prices than these, and the 2011 Red Book is due out soon so these prices are a bit dated.

A nice and rare coin!

Here is my coin. The liberty is very clear. What would you grade this as?

I'd say your dime has at least EF-40 detail. The dark material clinging to the letters and the top of the wreath suggest the coin may have been cleaned at some point. Deposits in the recessed areas often don't come off during cleaning so cleaned coins often have these dark residues. If cleaned the value will likely be somewhat reduced but this is still a scarce coin in high grade. A realistic sale price might be in the $125 to $150 range.

thanks Jaobler,
I have enjoyed this forum so far. Lots of great threads to search and the replys to my posts have been quick and helpful.

Did you notice the mark above the liberty's chin on the coin? It is not a knock. The coin appears to be made with this. I have searched photos of the coin online and cannot find one with a similar error?
Rest in Peace

I'd say you could get considerably more than $150 if you sold it on ebay. People on ebay are nuts about this date/mm for some reason.
