Are Joseph Barr Dollars Worth Anything More Than A Dollar?

big orange fan New Member United States 20 Posts	Posted 05/31/2006 12:50 pm In the course of my father giving me his coin collection, he has also given me a number of Joseph Barr dollars which he thought might be valuable because apparently Barr was Secretary of the Treasury for a very brief time? Sap Moderator Australia 16850 Posts	Posted 06/01/2006 05:49 am Series 1963B? The only catalogue I have for USA notes is an old (2002) Pick world paper money book, Vol 3 (current issues). According to that book, CV for 1963B $1 is $4 in Unc, face value for circulated. The $1 note is the only way to get this signature; he never made it onto the higher denominations. Only $1 notes with the branch-letters B, E, G, J, and L can be found, so it's not hard to get the "full set" of 1963B's. Anyone with a proper US paper money catalogue have a better idea? scoutjim99 Pillar of the Community United States 4589 Posts	Posted 06/03/2006 9:35 pm Barr notes are worth keeping in my opinion, the prices do not reflect the rarity as of yet(so I believe) all notes in Cu are worth $4.00 unless they are star notes they are worth 5-6 dollars and if they are Choice crisp Uncirculated they are worth $6.00- $8.00 what condition are yours in These notes are good conversation pieces and can be used to gain a persons interest in the collecting of currency and coins as well Edited by scoutjim99 06/03/2006 9:41 pm Report this Post to the Staff
