In the course of my father giving me his coin collection, he has also given me a number of Joseph Barr dollars which he thought might be valuable because apparently Barr was Secretary of the Treasury for a very brief time? Do these have any value above their face? They have been circulated.

Thanks for any help.

Series 1963B? The only catalogue I have for USA notes is an old (2002) Pick world paper money book, Vol 3 (current issues). According to that book, CV for 1963B $1 is $4 in Unc, face value for circulated. The $1 note is the only way to get this signature; he never made it onto the higher denominations. Only $1 notes with the branch-letters B, E, G, J, and L can be found, so it's not hard to get the "full set" of 1963B's.

Anyone with a proper US paper money catalogue have a better idea?
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Barr notes are worth keeping in my opinion, the prices do not reflect the rarity as of yet(so I believe) all notes in Cu are worth $4.00 unless they are star notes they are worth 5-6 dollars and if they are Choice crisp Uncirculated they are worth $6.00- $8.00 what condition are yours in

These notes are good conversation pieces and can be used to gain a persons interest in the collecting of currency and coins as well

Joseph W. Barr was the 59th Secretary of the Treasury and served under President Lyndon B. Johnson from Dec. 12, 1968 to Jan. 20, 1969. This was the last 28 days of the Johnson Administration.
