He is getting $800+ for it right now, so I guess it is a good fake?

I also noticed that he has a high 100% positive feedback rating. I would not have thought twice about buying from him. Is it possible that he doesn't know?

Bad fake, and someone got taken for over $1300. The mintmark has been mentioned. Another thing to note is the center bar of the B in the VDB is horizontal. It should slope up to the right. But the most blatant error is the date. When was the last time you saw a prominent serif on the 1 in the date of a 1909? BLSz+KWt-g~~_1.jpg)

So - no one has notified ebay as to the nature of this fake coin and now the illegal transaction?

This one looks a lot like previous discussed fakes. Seriously, anybody who drops $$$ on this coin ought to know better--imo.

I just reported it. Maybe they can do something before the Buyer pays.

Maybe it's just me, but if a person is willing to spend that kind of cash without knowing what he's buying, I can't get too upset about it. Is that wrong? I DO agree ebay needs to get their $%#@! straight when it comes to allowing counterfeit coins on their auctions.

It's a "Buyer Beware" world for sure ! ........education "first"......purchase "second" ! I'd have wanted it certified before I spent THAT much money no matter where I bought it !

Totally agree people first pay over a thousand of dollars and then cry when they realize its fake, but its there fault not the sellers. Of coarse in this case the seller with over 1500 feedbacks was well aware of what he was selling.

One of the worst fakes I've seen. I'm with Moe on this one too. If you are looking to buy a 1909 S VDB, you probably should know more about the coin before bidding on such crap. I really dont feel bad for the buyer...you just have to know better, do some research before spending such money on anything, not just coins.

Chinese fake. You can tell by the serif on the 1 in the date.

The bust is so worn, but the date and VDB stand out like a lighthouse. Don't think I would but something like that out of a slab, and then I would check for fake slabs.
