I recently aquired probably a box of 99's from the bank that were mixed in with other coins. well I started going through checking for Wide AM's and I noticed something weird "on a few that I have found so far" Something inside the memorial beside the column. I checked coppercoins site but did not see anything. Can someone help me.. Thanks. Like I said I have found it on 3 since I noticed them.

Here is a picture its circled in red

I actually think it may be a die clash from the bow on the other side

Here's the deal...

Doubling would have to be a secondary image of something else near by on the same side of the coin. There's nothing in that area of the reverse of the cent with that shape, so there's nothing this could be 'doubling' of....so a doubled die is out. The next logical choice would be a die clash. So if you note the area of the coin and flip it over and look at the part exactly opposite that area you'll find Lincoln's throat. The shape of the throat is exactly opposite the shape on the reverse, so this must be where the mark on the reverse comes from. You have a die clash!

In my opinion it's not worth keeping because the clash is much to minor, put them in your re-roll pile

Yeah...die clashes aren't worth anything extra unless they are easily visible with the unaided eye and are pretty obvious as to what they are.
