Reminds me of a couple years ago when I bought 40 BU Washington quarters (1964) for about $120. When they arrived there were two rolls (80 quarters) in the box!
The seller was not into coins and didn't count them! He thought each roll had 20 quarters in it! I e-mailed him and told him of the mistake and he said, "Send one roll back!".
I offered him $100 for the second roll and he was very happy with that; we closed the deal without him having to pay return shipping, ebay fees and shipping costs for the second roll. Plus I got a good deal too.
While the surprise continued on the coin deal and I have to say this dealer is special. When the mail arrived today the actual coin I bought from him arrived and he surprised the crap out of me because he had a check with the coin I bought for the $45.00 for the coin. He said thanks for being honest and for sending back the coin I sent you in mistake.
HooRah for both parties! There are still a lot of honest folk out there! I also collect antique stoneware, once sold a crock to a party in Kansas and shipped the wrong one, it should have gone to Calif. Buyer in Kansas understood, asked for shipping address in Calif, shipped it for me without returning and I sent them the correct crock with double refund on all shipping incurred.
Great to see honesty is still around. Most would have not bothered. I get the feel that some folks think the world "owes" them something. Good for you!
