Has-Anyone-Seen-This-Cow-?-|-Fantasy-Swiss-Euro-Pattern

What I do know is when...2003, weight... 4.8 grams, size... 19mm or US cent sized!

I need to know where it was made and the reason behind it.

Thanks

It is a Swiss fantasy Euro (Cero). It should be made of copper plated steel. According to Krause - Unusual World Coins 16,000 were minted and it is worth $2.50 BU.

As for why it was made...who knows. These fantasy patterns seem to multiply like roaches. I'm waiting for a U.S. fantasy Euro pattern to be released.

snowman you are good! It looks like I will have to purchase yet another Krause publication, for Unusual World Coins! But like I said you got it straight on the head, Swiss who would of thunk! Here are a couple of links:

This guy has a pretty big collection of such "pattern" pieces:

And as for "a U.S. fantasy Euro pattern", well, let Frizio help you out.

(That is just a design though, not a medal.)

"PS" - I really like this piece, also from that series of supposedly Swiss patterns:

Mnyum ...
