Hah! That's kind of a brilliant marketing idea. I remember a couple of years ago there was a ton of sites that would like odd/funny/bizarre/hot items and there were competitions to see how many watchers a listing could get.

I'm lazy and superstitious. I'd rather set my price at the price I want and stick with it. Plus when you do "unusual" things then you attract unusual buyers. I'm a powerseller so I've got some experience dealing with unusual buyers. Sometimes they are fun but usually, the less the better. :)

I used to work at a clothing store (25 years ago), and we used to advertise the $99 Tie, and a free suit. I am fairly certain that these type of advertisements garner a lot of attention to find out what it's all about.
