Here is a very rare signature on this 100 baht note. Underneath it is what is supposedly a unique note for the F-12 prefix with this signature combination. If you get heavily into Thai notes of the current king, it seems that rarity and value are all about the prefix numbers and signature combinations, just like U.S. coin die varieties (vam, breen, and overton).

Wow zeewool. You've a very nice set of Thai notes. I especially like the error ones. Here's a scan of the signatures and values from my book for the 20 baht note. Prices are obviously in bahts and the gradings are Good, XFine and UNC.

Wow Vic, I am in absolute awe. I do have news though, I am not really sure if it is good or bad either. That book that you have must be around 50 or 60 years old, and may be a collector's item in itself. It is quite a relic. Here are (the same) scans from an outdated book of only ten years ago, and the values in it are low in relation to current market values. I can give you the names and addresses of auction houses and online auctions in Bangkok that will serve to get you the notes that you want and let you in on how much it is really going to cost you (if you wish).

Here is a note that sold at an auction house in Bangkok a couple of years ago. This is the last example of this type note to be sold at any auction that I am aware of, and it went very cheaply from what I have been told (depending on the exchange rate at the time $2000-$2200). LOT NO: 1283 meaning Starting: THB 70000 Approx: € 1320 Download Blank POST-BID Series IV, "Rama VIII" printed Survey Department 100 b. #P42, signed 19, #S2 81543 center bend , VF. My book has a publication date of 2002. As for auctions those kinds of prices are way out of my league. So what book is your source? Is it one you have or is it online?

I have a few that I bought so that I could read up on the banknotes. The one that I have posted scans of is 'Thai Banknotes Catalogue' by Somchai Saeng-ngern ISBN 974-92803-1-8 printed in both Thai and English, 256 pages.
Another most excellent reference (without values) is 'The Centenery of Thai Banknote: 1902-2002' by 'The Working Group' of the Bank of Thailand. I cannot find an ISBN. Printed in both Thai and English 448 pages.
Both books are available in Thailand (country of origin).

Impressive. Incidentally, that child king pictured is Rama VIII, as you undoubtedly know, and Thailand's current King is Rama IX, who is the one wearing glasses. Rama VIII died in 1946 under very mysterious circumstances; see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ananda_Mahidol

They seem to set some lucky store by solid serial numbers out here. I think the most sought after are all 6s and all 9s.
