I had a reply that the coin I posted was a Chinese Fantasy Coin. I was wondering is that 100% or a thought?
Does the piece have dollar value?

In terms of value, you say its silver in hand, there is a chance it may be pure silver which would make it worth melt value in silver. Beyond that you would have to find a market for it, someone who collects these types of medals.

Earlier thread is here.

Just because a coin is a "fantasy" or "unofficial" doesn't necessarily mean it's worthless, or junk, or no-one will want it. I've been trying to obtain a "fantasy coin" from Neutral Moresnet for quite some time now; they're worth hundreds when you can find them.

However, this particular type is one of dozens of varieties of fake and fantasy coins coming out of China in recent years. These "coins" typically are not made of silver, even though they may look and even sound just like a silver coin. They typically sell for 2 or 3 dollars each down at the local market.

Here's an old thread where one of these fake/fantasy "flag dollars" is discussed; there's a link in that thread to an even older thread with one, posted by someone in China.
