This is not coin related, but have posted here to give this true story the widest possible exposure for members to take heed. There are a lot of low-lifes around.
This lady's handbag was stolen. The handbag contained her mobile phone, credit cards, purse etc. Twenty minutes later when she called her hubby, telling him what had happened, her hubby says "I've just received your SMS asking about our Pin number and I've replied a little while ago." When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen handphone to SMS "hubby" in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account. Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mum etc......
and very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru SMS, CONFIRM by calling back. PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS

The only thing I've lost in the last 40 years was a cell phone that fell off its belt hook @ John Wayne Airport in Orange County California. I have always been lazy to add names & numbers etc in the addy book on all my electronic devices so they got nothing there--But by the time I realized later that I lost the thing, after I cancell the number, they made many long distance calls (At least while the battery had juice) which the phone company then tried to collect from me AFTER I told them to cancell that account-Needless to say, I paid the cell company nadda--zip --zero--for all those illegal calls. Thanks lim118 for the heads-up! It's amazing what the high-tech crooks can do! Through it all, I'll never understand the mentality of someone who is so full of hate and dishonesty. Unfortunately, they do exist and we have to keep our guard up. Thanks again!

Thanks for the information.
I have had only one high tech crime committed against me. That involved using my stolen credit card number and charging a couple thousand dollars worth of of items to my account. Luckily, my card company assumed the loss.
Can't be too careful nowadays.
I get the daily e-mails from the "Barristers" in Africa wanting me to claim my millions, left to me my a dearly departed relative. I wish they could catch the crooks, convict them, lock the up, and misplace the key.

You're right about all the lowlifes out there.Among the worst things is those scams on ebay, such as those promoted by the Savannah Scammer - Pamela *deleted*.She sells fakes on ebay & refuses to take them back once people complain. She has been NARU'd on ebay a number of times,& she has been NARU'd from Overstock as well.
