I am familiar with the RedBook and bluebook for the most part, but I was wanting to check out some of the greysheets. I don't know much about them other than lots of people have said they are a bit better of an indicator of what coins sell for. I don't have a need to get a subscription, but was wondering where you can buy an issue. I really just want to find out more about it and check one out. Thanks for any info.

I just got a free issue in the mail myself. I want to say it took 3 weeks to arrive and that was during Christmas time.

I found the link for the 7 newsletter special, but I do not see the link to sign up for a free copy. Can someone direct us to that link?

What is the difference between teh greysheet certified and the raw numbers, I would think that certified would be higher but that's not always the case.

The Bluesheet is pricing for sight-unseen certified coins while the Greysheet is for sight-seen raw coins with downward adjustments for below average quality raw coins. This basically means that there are some dogs out there in Top 4 plastic and to never assume that a coin is average or above average just because it is slabbed(buy the coin, not the slab). CDN makes this note-
Client or sight-seen sales may command a substantial premium above Bluesheet Dealer-to-Dealer Bids.

Spaceace, the quickest way to buy one is on their website... www.greysheet.com If you are interested in certain older coins, you may have to buy a supplement to get a price list for those. You can have issues mailed to you, or you can purchase the PDF version and use it immediately.

If there are any coin stores in your area you may want to just ask if they could give or sell you an older copy just to see what they are like. The Grey Sheets are becoming the coin dealers most commonly used price guides. If you look around you would find numerous price guides for coins. They are all over the place. There are such guides in the Red Book, The Blue Book, on the PCGS web site, Numismedia web sites and on and on and on. And remember they are all just GUIDES. If you can find any coin shows in your area, you would see almost every dealer using the grey sheet for pricing. That price guide has been cathing on with dealers more and more lately. The Grey Sheet is updated frequently so more reliable than a book of prices that comes out monthly or even annually.
