I made this picture from one I took off of the TV screen and I want to have it as my avitar or have it shown where the other picture is above my name in the topics I post. Is this possible?

If you want it as an avatar, you have to send it attached in an email to Susan. It might take a while before she processes it.

If you want to put it in your profile, you can do that yourself if it's been downloaded somewhere on the web; you can even add it as a "thread uploaded files". Just click on "My CCF" near the top of the page, then click on "Edit my profile". Enter your ID and password to access the profile edit screen, then put the URL of the picture in the "Picture URL" box.

I had an old picture of myself in the "uploaded files" section from the old Picture the Poster thread. I just made that pic my image in my profile, so I know that uploaded pics do work there. If your pic is on your computer but hasn't been uploaded anywhere yet, then here's a step-by-step for what to do:

- Make sure the picture file itself is "CCF-friendly": it must be .jpg format, must be less than 100 kb in size, and it can't have spaces or $ymbols in it's name (only letters and numbers).
- Click "Reply to Topic" just above the OP right here in this thread, where it says "New Topic", "New Poll", etc.
- Click on the little camera icon labelled "Add Image".
- Click the "Browse" button, then find the file wherever it is on your computer and select it.
- Click the "Upload file to {your username}'s post" button.
- If an obscure error message occurs here, then the file isn't "CCF-friendly" - go back to step one and edit the image properties.
- Assuming no funky error messages appear, it should come up with statistics on the uploaded file. Close this upload box.
- You should now see that the URL of the image you just uploaded has been automatically entered into the text input box, in between [img] tags. Copy everything in between the two tags but not the tags themselves, just the URL.
- You do not need to complete making the post in this thread, though you're quite welcome to do so if you like. The important thing is that the picture is now on the CCF server, whether you complete making the post or not.
- Now click on "My CCF" and edit your profile, as I highlighted above.
- Paste the file's URL into the "Picture URL" box.
- Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
- If a strange error message appears, you've done something wrong. I must have explained it badly.
- Hopefully, no error messages appear, or the problems are easily fixable. If it's worked properly, you should now be able to click on your username wherever it appears and see your pic in your profile.
