I just saw a auction venue pop "on" coinsheetlinks. It is run out of Greece and appears to be pretty nice. I went ahead and registered so I could try it out. Of course it helped that they have a few notes I would like to have. Here's the address www.alibabacoins.com It doesn't appear to be in the ebay style. More like DLRC style. Jerry

I would recomend NOT to use the site, It is a scam site! One of the main people signed up to the forum and sent many people mails, incl. me and he would spam you.
So I suggest, not to use the site, as you may also know Alibaba means thief.

Indeed, that was a site that used to spam this forum in the past if I am not mistaken.

I don't know if it's a fake or not. What type of spam did you get? I just checked my email and Post Ini and have not been spammed yet. I'm going to poke around some more. Anybody else know anything?
Also, who determined that they were a fake site? How did they determine that they were fake. If some one can tell me for sure that it is fake, then I need to contact Bob Johnson, guy who runs coinsheetlinks, and let him know.

The problem is not a matter of fake or real site, but a matter of ethics. You DON'T spam regardless of what you try to do, unless you get permission from the people who are interested in. thekidcollector: You best have all your ducks in a row when you call someone's site a scam. Plus your are implying the people are thieves. Do you know this for a fact? From what I'm finding out so far, I'm leaning about 95% towards the position that the site is legit. As for the thief part. I won't actually know that until I win something and pay.
gxseries: The problem is most definitely a matter of fake or real site...for thekidcollector. As for ethics of spamming people who are registered on a website, you are 100% correct in my book. Something tells me they learned their lesson. But, if I get spammed by them I'll post it here.

Jerry as you can see, that was mailed Dec 05 and the whole forum during that time was outraged. Who knows, maybe Susan managed to stop him from mailing everyone during the process but I have to say, I was not impressed. Else I would not have remembered such email.

Neither would I, I have replied and have been spammed by them with constant emails, but luckily we have been warned by Susan and banned them from the website, I was just stating that The term "Ali Baba" as you know is a fictional character who was a thief. If you think they may not scam, you can try them out, none of us have bought from them, We are just trying to warn you.

I don't know anything about the site itself but I want to make a little note. Ali Baba is indeed a fictional character, but he is among the good ones in the story, he takes some of the treasure of a gang of 40 thieves, that may be considered as stealing, yet, then he is a different version of Robin Hood; not exactly the villain of the story. I agree on the other matter, it's very important to be careful when we accuse anyone of anything.

I don't think anyone thinks you "trick" anyone. It's just that people want to see some proof, or previous discussions on the matter.

thekidcollector: It never crossed my mind once that you were trying to trick me. It never crossed my mind that you would even BE ABLE to trick me. Do you think this is the only forum that I've sought info about this new auction site? I am in contact with the owner of the site through a third party who knows him and also lives in Greece. I fully intend to call the owner of the site myself as soon as I can determine that he is able to converse in English. Since kidcollector claims to being spammed by constant emails I am going to bring that up to him. kidcollector, I need a 100% honest answer from you to this question. Doesn't mean I feel you owe me one nor will I be expecting one. But would definitely appreciate one. Are you at present time still being spammed by the owner of this auction site? When was the last spam email you received? A forum member here indicates to me they were a one time deal or ceased as soon as Susan stepped in. I read your link...and yes at the time it makes all the sense. Now, please read this link. It's the one that makes sense now. http://forums.collectors.com/messag...eadid=509094I'm sincerely sorry that I disturbed the forum. It will not happen again. Jerry
