@hfjacinto, great to see that your notes arrived & thanks again for bidding!

The back of the last CDN $1.00 features an engraving of the parliament buildings from the Ottawa River (which is open to the public for tours). The building in the foreground is the parliament library (restricted entry).

The note shown is P-85c with lithographed back. The other 2 notes you won have the steel engraved backs with 2 letter prefixes (P-85a & P-86a) which were the first original versions & are considered a little less common.

Another Canadian, this one is Pick 86B. The front features Queen Elizabeth II and the reverse features an Inuit tribe.

Pretty much what you could call an atomic bomb. For my savings at least I now have all 4 of this country (the others I already presented in the QE2 topic)

Yeah it was a bit of a landslide indeed @hfjacinto. I'm just sitting on my hands until my savings have grown back a bit, this was a little bit over the edge of the comfort zone indeed. But then again, isn't that just the place where the magic happens?

Wow! That's a real jaw-dropping scarce note with great eye appeal! Congrats @Lighthouse250!

When are you going to show us the pretty elephants on the reverse?

Todays note is Pick 105A, these were issued as a temporary note till the production of Escudos started. To show that these were no longer from the Monarchy (which was overthrown in 1910) the black over stamp of REPUBLICA was added to the front of the note.

Compared to my last 2 notes from Portugal these are much more common. The 500 Reis was also available as a coin.

-Very nice (& large). Just the reverse design (this elephant scene) of this £10 has made me eyeball it more than once. [But currently out of reach]

That's a really decent looking VF25 you got there (again) @hfjacinto. Again, I don't see a central reverse vertical crease so typical on VF25's. Another excellent catch & I like the way you've paired it with a coin from the same year (1910).

In that case you might want to have a look at Malawi's 1995 200 Kwacha note that uses the same scene and goes for a lot more affordable prices Think about 100-140 USD UNC. Malawi by the way, is what used to be Nyasaland.
