Reis Issue - If I can find any in a price/condition I want, I will get but these are expensive and very rare. I do have P105 500 Reis the most common of the Rei notes.
P112-116 1913-1923 Regular Issue - I have P112 and P113 and would like to get the rest, but rarity and cost are a factor. This is TBD.
P117-P118 1919-1920 "Chapa 1 & 2" Issue - I really really really want P118. I doubt it will happen, long term goal.
P119-P126 1920-1928 "Chapa A, 1 & 2" Issue - P120 maybe possible.
P127-P131 1922-1926 "Chapa 1 & 2" Issue - I have P127, the rest of the series is CRAZY Rare and Crazy Expensive.
P132 - P139 1924-1925 "Chapa 3 & 4" Issue, P140 - P142 1927-1930 "Chapa 4" Issue, P146 - P148 1932 & 1934"Chapa 5" Issue and P149-P152 1935-1941 "Chapa 5 & 6" Issue - Rarity (in many cases under 20 samples are known) and cost limit to me just drooling at these.

Thanks jBuck, today's note is P158 1944 & 1952 "João IV, Chapa 8" Issue. This is the only note is this issue. While not a "rare" note, not many were saved and is therefore hard to find in uncirculated condition. The 1952 series had ~ 6,000,000 notes printed. Considering Portugal's population was ~ 8 million at the time and the notes were printed between 1952 and 1958, it wasn't a lot of notes. The 1942 printing was tiny with only 300,000. Hence the 1952 went actively into circulation.

The note features D. João IV who was King of Portugal. Born March 19, 1604 - Died November 6, 1656). He was the King of Portugal whose reign, lasting from 1640 until his death, began the Portuguese restoration of independence from Habsburg Spanish rule. His accession established the House of Braganza on the Portuguese throne, and marked the end of the 60-year-old Iberian Union by which Portugal and Spain shared the same monarch.

When Philip II of Portugal (III of Spain) died, he was succeeded by his son Philip III (IV of Spain), who had a different approach to Portuguese issues. Taxes on the Portuguese merchants were raised, the Portuguese nobility began to lose its influence and government posts in Portugal were increasingly occupied by Spaniards. Ultimately, Philip III tried to make Portugal a Spanish province, meaning Portuguese nobles stood to lose all of their power.

This situation culminated in a revolution organized by the nobility and the bourgeoisie, executed on 1 December 1640, fifty-nine years after the accession of Philip II of Spain to the throne of Portugal. Within a matter of hours and with popular support, John, then the 8th Duke of Braganza, was acclaimed as King John IV of Portugal claiming legitimate succession through his grandmother Catherine, Duchess of Braganza. From 1641 to 1668, the period during which the two nations were at war, Spain sought to isolate Portugal militarily and diplomatically, and Portugal tried to find the resources to maintain its independence through political alliances and maintenance of its colonial income.

Since all the notes and rare coins I have been getting lately are form Portugal I was a "little" concerned as this took took 2 weeks to get here, but Walk2Water calmed me down and told me that I was spoiled due to how little time the packages from Europe have taken to get to me

I remember being so excited when I won the above 5 Pounder from an American seller. I paid $30 for FedEx shipping & it sat in Niagara Falls (or Detroit) for 2 weeks! In the meantime, my notes from Portugal arrived (only took them 10 days!) So, yeah, its all about the customs officer & who happens to inspect your package, (whether he/she had a good or bad day, etc) and it ends up being a bit of a "crap shoot" really!

Now, I'm reassuring other collectors who've submitted their notes for TPG (that 2 months turn-around time isn't that long) on other forums! Man oh man, my job here never ends!
