It's too late now but you should never dip a circulated coin that is worth more than bullion value. This coin is worth way more than bullion because it's a better date New Orleans minted piece.

Greysheet "Bid" is around $130 in AU condition. Let this piece re-tone naturally this year. It should be okay.
