I ran across this in a shop today and thought I'd share:
It appears to be cast pot metal, then plated. Obverse detail is especially weak.
I'm assuming it's a counterfeit intended for circulation. Weight is 1.52g

I am beyond a newbie when it comes to counterfeits (and this coin) so forgive me if this is a stupid question:

Why would anyone bother making a fake 10 cent coin? It (the real one) must be silver?

Also, I can't find the British Caribbean Territories in my "Collecting World Coins 1901 - Present" book. Why is that?

Admittedly, I'm a newbie too on the subject of counterfeits Perhaps a low-denomination counterfeit wouldn't be scrutinized?
The authentic coin is cupronickel, not cast/plated--so I'm only guessing a fake, but what other explanation is there?
It's in Krause under "East Caribbean States", and this is KM#5 (if real).

Ahh... For some reason looking under "E" was too complicated for me!

I do see why you are questioning it. Especially the edge view. That line really looks like it was caused by two halves of a mold.

Could it be a legit coin dipped into something? (although, that doesn't explain the line on the edge...)

hmm, well that one certainly is fake, and the real one is only worth 35 cents when BU. So I am not quite sure why someone would have gone to the trouble of making this. I can only assume that it was done in order to pass it off in circulation. I actually have a British Indian Rupee that is similarly cast (badly), but the real version of it should have been silver, and today the value is way over 35 cents.

All in all, your fake is pretty cool.

That is a cool looking fake. I think some people are looking at this coin in a numistmatic way.....it maybe only worth in unc, 35 cents in the Krause coin book but back in 1965 that 10 cent fake if pasted would have gotten me two Drakes Ring Dings or four Devil Dogs or a double cone icecream. Oh The good old days
