Hello - Attached is a recent acqusition of a North American Token. Though grades are somewhat subjective, opinions as to grade are most appreciated. (As I am new to this forum, please advise if indeed this is the wrong forum for this coin.) Thanks, kindly.

Sorry, but I can't make out the inscription because the picture is so poor. Can you take it out of the 2X2?

It's a token, so you're in the right place. The details look at least Fine, but it's got some nasty dints in both sides. The ship looks like it tried to run the blockade, and lost. These "North American Tokens" were struck in Dublin, Ireland, but are typically listed under Canada since they were primarily intended for use in Quebec and Ontario. "1781" is believed to be a fictitious date, designed to avoid prosecution under anti-token laws passed in Quebec in 1825; they were probably struck in the late 1820's or 1830's. It's listed in the Canadian token books as Charleton #249, Breton #1013. Back in 1977 (my newest Canadian token book ) the price in VG was $10.

Hi Sap - Thanks for the prompt feedback. I appreciate it. I acquired the token for $41.10. As per your grading, and the 2009 Red Book (pg. 69), that equates to approx $140. Would you concur? Please kindly advise. Thanks, again.

** Correction to last post -> The 2009 Red Book was cited incorrectly. Indeed, I meant the 2010 Red Book.

They're in the RedBook? I didn't know that. I'd think $40-$60 would be a fair price for this piece; while the details are Fine, the scars and damage would really bring the "net grade" (and therefore price) down to below VG, I would think. Prices for "damaged" coins are much more subjective, because some people consider certain kinds of damage (such as holes drilled through them) to be "serious", while others don't.
