Hello everyone,
Does anyone know what the parenthesis mean around the number (4,420) after the year 1936 for the Buffalo nickel, or any coin for that matter, in the Red Book? Thanks, JR

I am going to say the amount made for circulation. However, I am sure somebody can/will chime in with more specific and correct information in the event I am wrong.

The number in ( ) is the estimated or in the event of accuracy the number of proof coins minted.

# of Proofs minted. See page 20, para 5 in the 07 Red Book. Good question though!
