Subject has been discussed possibly a million times already. Slight exageration by a few thousand. If you do a search on this forum for PVC you will find many, many, many topics about just what it is, why it is, how to detect, why you should use it, why you shouldn't use it, how to use it in your home for piping, what store sell it by the feet, yard, mile, etc.
The worse thing about all those stories are that so many are repeats of what someone found somewhere and just copied it with no knowledge of what they are saying. Or someone that just wants to say something. Anything.
It is great to attempt to inform everyone about something though. Stick around and you'll see that PVC is one of the more commonly used subjects.

Uh Carl,
Coin News is not a member, it is one of Bobby's widgets. Those "stories" as you call them are from NGC, I think they may know what they are talking about

Well the information in th link was correct as far as it went, but the description of the Beilstein test to check for chlorides was woefully inadequate. On the other hand I'm sure that was intentional because they didn't want any potential liability if someone got hurt testing their flips following instructions from NGC.

Yes, the Beilstein test is definitely not for amateurs
