Hello,

I have a couple of questions. My first question is about the American Silver Eagle Proof coins. I looked on the mint's website and from what I can see the mint mark will always be "W." The obverse and reverse design will always be the same and so the only thing that changes is the year of issue, is that correct?

Second, I got some really good advice (as usual) from folks on this forum about creating a want list for coin shows and some tips on my inventory as well. My question is how can I show these 2 Excel spreadsheets for opinions and suggestions? CCF doesn't allow file uploading, any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rich

The Proof Silver Eagles have only been minted at West Point since 2001(not counting the one-off and ultra expensive 1995W). They were minted in San Francisco from 1986-1992 and Philly from 1993-2000. The hub design was slightly modified(stars and lettering serifs) in 2008 which resulted in the 2008/rev of 2007 Uncirculated Burnished Finish mules.

Regarding your second query about how to show off the two excel spreadsheets.

If you are using Microsoft Office 2003 or 2007 on a non-64 bit Windows computer, Microsoft Office Document Image Writer can be used. Should install as standard on Office 2003 and optional piece on Office 2007.

This allows you to print to a tiff file. It is a good idea to add in gridlines if the excel spreadsheet lacks borders on the cells.

You can then use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to export the file as a jpg. You can also resize the file to make it smaller as well.

Here is a boring spreadsheet but gives the idea.

Another easy way is to do a 'Print Screen'.

Open up the spreadsheet. Click on the "PRT SC" button on your keyboard.

Go to START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, PAINT.

In the PAINT program, click on EDIT, PASTE. The screen image with the spreadsheet should appear.

Next, in the PAINT program, click on FILE, SAVE AS, and type in a filename. Click OK.

Your spreadsheet image is saved to your hard drive, and you can upload it as a JPG to the forum.

*TIP - remember there is a 100K file size limit on the forum. You may have to "reduce" the image so that it saves less than 100K in size. To accomplish this, do the following prior to saving in PAINT:

Click on IMAGE, RESIZE/SKEW, and change the RESIZE HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL Percent Numbers to lesser numbers (ensure that you type in the same lesser number for both HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL - for example 50% and 50%. After resizing, do a FILE, SAVE AS.
