Hi all

I wanted to ask the community for any advice folks might have in dealing with an auction house such as Heritage or B&M.

I am thinking of consigning a coin with one of them for this summer's ANA in Boston and want to go into the process with any info that can help me make an informed choice.

Thanks for any info you can provide

Mike

What kind of coin are you considering placing in an auction?

Each auction house will have a minimum total consignment...I think it is $5,000 at Heritage. Don't quote me on that, I haven't slept at Holiday Inn Express since I asked them that question.

It is a 1916 Saint PCGS MS66 with a CAC sticker.

My reasons for even exploring this route are because of previous attempts at negotiating with individual dealers. I just dont feel very good at it, even when I come to the table armed with the relevant info regarding going prices for a coin.

Some people relish horse trading, I have never felt that way

Well, that's certainly a Heritage-level coin. I cannot offer anything from experience - I don't sell at that level - but were it me, I'd be aiming at consigning to the Heritage Summer FUN auction.
