Hi everyone, Well after many yrs of roll hunting I hope it is a nice find. the 1982 DDR that I have seen on other error websites seems to be the same. I guess there are only two other examples out there? Being a long time lurker here on CCF I thought this might be my first stop to confirm my find with some more knowledgeble people. If you feel that more photos are needed just ask, just wanted to get this up after an excited morning of finding it. Your thoughts and opinions I look forward to hearing. Also any thoughts as to what to do next with a rare error coin would help? thanks, photogame

Looks like you got one. Congrats. 700 to 1000 value in AU/MS60 Send it to anacs or pcgs for grading etc. Maybe some more pics of the whole coin for a grade idea.

PCGS will not attribute it as a DDR, they will only attribute Fivaz-Stanton varieties from the Cherrypicker's Guide and this one is too new to have made it in the most recent edition. The discovery coin was found by a member of this forum and I believe the second example was revealed here as well so this forum has accounted for all three known examples Here is the link to the original discovery article in Numismatic News written by Charles Daughtrey(coppercoins)- http://www.numismaster.com/ta/numis...ticleId=2899

biokemist6, thankyou for the original link to its discovery and the fact that pcgs will not grade the coin. whats the other options for TPG services? numismo, I will roll search about $25-100 cents a month lately, was out of it for a while, new kid. but I have had some beginners early luck, this coin, 1995 DDO, 1984 DDO. 2000 and 1998 WAM. just waiting for that elusive 1999 WAMphotogame

Hey photogame, do you live in the Northeast? That is where the other two have come from so I am curious if the territory has widened at all.

I live in Mass. and it seems that these types of varieties are found here or in neighboring states. I saw the first 92 close A.M. here then the second one from one of our members in Conn. Now 2 of the 82's from Mass. Nor sure where the second find was from though.
