I was looking at some SLQ on ebay and realized it's hard to find these in AU condition at a good price.I'm guessing mine is AU40 or better.Am I over grading or under grading?Let me know what ya think. Thanks Edited by jasper62 01/30/2010 12:50 pm

Is it really that shiny in hand? If so, it has had a bit of polishing.

Jasper. It is very difficult finding those in higher grades. The design was a flaw to start with as they didn't wear very well.I would say it is at least an AU-40 or maybe 50.

I know I'm gonna sound picky, but "40" isn't "Almost Uncirculated," it's "Extremely Fine" so the technical designation would be EF40. Having made that obscure point, I'd say this one technically merits EF45-AU50. I'd also agree with biokemist that it's been polished, killing its' value.

Agreed! It is difficult to grade from those pictures given the shiny condition. There are a few carbon spots on the obverse and a bite under the body of the Eagle. It appears to be an S too!
