I have a 1917 Wheat penny and in the head there is a crack. I was wondering is that an error and does the value go up because of the crack?

Unless it is massive, i.e. a die break, a die crack of the head is fairly common and does not add a premium. Of course, pics usually tell the whole story so go ahead and post 'em.
