Looks like this coin, of Constantius II. "Constantius II AE3. 327 AD. FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C, laureate, draped & cuirassed bust left / PROVIDENTIAE CAESS S-F, campgate with six rows, two turrets, no doors, star above, top and bottom rows empty blocks, ARLQ in ex. "

thank you very much. I am just starting to indulge myself in my love of old coins but I have absolutely no knowledge. will try to figure out what some of the abbreviations mean. will do research to find out which books would be good learning material for me

I am no expert on ancient roman coins, but I have learned how to navigate a wonderful website called Wildwinds. http://www.wildwinds.com They are attached to Ancient Forum, another coin website that focuses on ancients. I recommend starting there if you want to research ancients.

As for value, the two coins I showed above were auctioned, and came out between $30 and $45 each.
