Is there any premium on this coin, or is it worth around spot?

Well, some people will pay more because it is certified, although many raw are MS-69. What company is yours certified by? Modern coins certified by PCGS will generally carry a premium over NGC or any of the other TPG's.

I bought it at a dealer before I knew more about coins. It says ICG before the MS 69. To be honest I don't know who certified it.

Then ICG is the company that certified and graded it. They are known to overgrade modern coins, it should be worth bullion, plus maybe a small premium. Depends on if the date is special.

I don't buy into that whole slabbed gold deal. Gold is gold and I'm going to try to buy it as close to spot as possible. Unless it is older and rarer there is no numismatic value in it for me.

I actually bought a bullion gold coin and it came in a NCG slab graded ms 69. I didn't pay any premium above what I paid for similar coins I had ordered. Since they are struck as bullion coins the quality controls have to be so high anyway you are almost guaranteed ms 69 coins.
